http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9xcSzDxFXgI believe this is a 50.4 sec run. My best time video wound up shutting off in the S turn due to how bad the road is and how violent the car feels in those turns. This video is pretty bad cause you can see how early I enter turn 2. When you exit, you shouldn't be staring at snow fence and pole like that! But, you just stay in it. Ya have to if you're driving a mustang. As a matter of fact, you just push that accelerator pedal down a little more.
It was a good weekend. I beat my last year's time by just about .4sec and beat the 2nd place car(SLP Firehawk 383) by just about 1 sec. The cam in that thing was nasty and it sounded like he had a hard time keeping it running. This guy lives literally 100yrds behind the start line. He knows the hill very well and is a pretty friggin good driver. He got me in '08 and I've gotten him in '09 and now in '10. This was the epitome of a street kill.
Yes, the Mach is an incredible car. Even when the engine and tranny are unmolested, minus a 1/4" intake spacer. I don't even have headers or a CAI. So, I gotta hand it to Ford for making such a durable and competitive car. Now all I have to do is figure out this rear suspension. I have the uppers for the 5link2 and am having my MM PHB cut and re-welded to work with it. Side exhaust will be a must and I'm gonna see how it sounds with the SLP's. Hopefully not too bad.
My wife wound up running a 52.7. Absolutely incredible time. Yeah, 2.7 behind me but when you consider her experience......incredible!
